Reception

Don’t say goodbye early: To honor your invitation cards, it’s very likely that the guests, will be turning up from the various corners of the country. Hence, if you leave early on, nothing can be more insulting to them than this move. Thus, stay in the reception for long time, to welcome them and take their blessings.

Plan the arrangement of all the tables:  Well, make sure that the tables for the wedding cake, guest book, wedding favors and the guests are arranged in a proper manner, as the arrangement of the tables, too constitutes the important part of wedding reception etiquettes.

Avoid one kind of music: The taste and preference of the people vary, influenced by various factors like the social circle, mood, age etc. Since the reception is attended by the people of different ages, hence abstain from having only one kind of music, so as to cater to the inclination of many around you.
Kickoff the meal soon: Most of the guests don’t like to have a big meal before the reception, as the meal of the reception is by nature very heavy. So try to start the food line as early as possible, don’t let them loose their weight!Top-wedding-songs

Don’t let the reception overrun in terms of time: You are well advised to pay attention to the time duration of the booking of the hall, for which the hall is all yours. Additionally allow time for clean-up for your family members, if it’s your “do-it-yourself” wedding reception. Do keep an eye on the overtime charges, of facility, entertainment, photographers etc.

Don’t intoxicate yourself too much with wine: Wine forms a part of reception, hence you are very likely to take one or two drink, but not beyond it. The only time during the wedding, when the bride and the groom eat, is the reception. Thus, the alcohol tends to affect you more. Thus, control yourself, to be the focal point of the party till the end. Reason being, the gusts are there at your reception to see your ecstasy and euphoria, on being married rather than you drunk. Thus, you need to be very careful and take the alcohol, but in the very limited amount.  Copy of Mini-Wine-Champagne-Wedding_65707B50

Lesser Tables:  It’s better to have more tables than lesser, as you definitely don’t want to see your guests standing at the very special occasion of your life i.e. reception. Therefore, order the number of tables, after taking into account various other tables, needed for other purposes like gifts, guests’ book, music etc.

Don’t charge your guests for the drinks: There is no logic for charging your guests, for the cocktail with “X dollars” or wine with “Y cents”, as it would give an Impression that they have arrived at the night club instead for reception! Thus, at least don’t charge your guests for same.

Don’t stare at your wedding presents: Nothing can be more embracing than this, i.e. when as a couple you are required to greet and say hello to every one, you are looking and moving around           your wedding presents. Thus, avoid it at your reception.
